CNASA Badminton Tournament Results

MIT managed to successfully take home first in both the Men’s and the Mixed tournament. And in doing so, extended our winning streak to four years in a row (since 2006)! Great job guys!

CNASA Badminton Tournament

The CNASA badminton tournament is taking place this coming Sunday (Nov 1), so we will not be having our normal team practice. We do have a few teams competing, so please feel free to come by and cheer us on. :D

Dates: Sunday November 1, 9:00am – 7:00pm

Venue: Rockwell Cage, M.I.T., Vassar Street, Cambridge, MA 02139

Next Practice: Sunday, October 11th!

Alright team, we’re going to mix it up a little up this week.  We don’t have the courts reserved, but we are going to have practice anyway because the courts are supposed to be open for badminton open play use.  We only have the courts from 9AM until 12PM, so PLEASE be on time/early.

We are also introducing a new structure to practice: splitting up the practice by skill level.  Here’s the schedule:

8:30 to 9:00 – Advanced players get to courts, warm up.
9:00 to 10:00 – Advanced players train
10:00 to 10:30 – Beginner Players get to courts, warm up.
10:30 to 11:30 – Beginner Players train; Advanced players play games
11:30-12:00 – Everyone plays games

A separate email with who we recommend for each category will be sent to the team.

Of course, beginner players are welcome to come early and play games or warm up if there is room.

See you Sunday!

Updated Fall Semester 2009 Court Schedule

The calendar has been updated with the available court times for the fall 2009 semester.

First Practice of Fall Semester 2009: September 13th

DSC_0097

The first practice for the intercollegiate league will be from 10AM-12PM on September 13th, 2009 in Rockwell Cage South Courts.  Practice will be led by coach Marc Lai.  Practice is open to all MIT students (exchange students too).  Please contact us if you’d like to join the team and receive team emails.

We’ve made most of the court reservations for the fall semester, but they aren’t up on the schedule page yet.  We’ll post them shortly.  Sunday, September 6th will be open play for the community, not intercollegiate league practice.
